More on Barbie?

I found this article on Robert's blog, and, in accordance with my previous post on Barbie, thought I should share:

CULTURE -- RADICAL RIGHT WING STARTS A WAR ON BARBIE: The Concerned Women for America (CWA), a radical right-wing group which works on "reversing the decline in moral values in our nation," has criticized the Barbie doll and its manufacturer, Mattel, for being influenced by the "transgender movement". Barbie.com recently featured a poll asking respondents their age and sex, with three options for the latter question: "I am a Boy, I am a Girl, and I Don't Know." The CWA's Bob Knight said the website's "agenda" is "bisexuality gender confusion" and is "very dangerous." Knight also criticized Barbie as anti-Christian: "[Barbie is] really steering girls away from the idea of womanhood as, predominantly, in terms of Christians, serving the Lord, getting married, having kids, building a home. You don't see any of that with Barbie." Mattel's spokeswoman claimed the poll's third choice was "an innocent oversight" and has been changed to read "I don't want to say."

And here I just thought she looked like a ho.

I don't understand this comment about Barbie being antithetical to the Christian ideal of womanhood. I mean, if "getting married, having kids, [and] building a home" are up there on that checklist, they ought to know that Barbie has Ken AND a dreamhouse. Kids are just around the corner, especially if she keeps dressing like this. Maybe the description of the "Christian ideal of womanhood" should have put more emphasis on the "serving the Lord" part. Just because I'm not sure that having a husband, a house, and kids make one woman more of the "Christian ideal." (Not to be snarky, but if that's what CWA is looking for, Barbie is closer to that "idea of womanhood...in terms of Christians" than Mother Teresa -- who didn't have any of those things.)

This Concerned Women for America must be a joke. Does anyone else find it interesting that the Concerned WOMEN for America have for their spokesperson a guy named "Bob?"

What's up with that?

Didn't you know that being a spokesperson is a man's job? I think there was a memo...maybe you didn't get it?

Perhaps Barbie stayed here with Ken before they were married. I also hear rumors that Barbie was friends with Ginny, y'know, back in the day...
